Sentinel

Everything you want to know about Sentinel.

The homepage makes the case. This page answers the questions a brand leader asks next: what Sentinel does, what it watches, how it judges what matters, and what working with it looks like.

The basics

What Sentinel is.

What exactly does Sentinel do?
Sentinel continuously watches the world around your brand, connects what is changing, interprets it against your brand, and tells you what deserves attention, why it matters and what to consider doing next. Watching is the beginning, not the product.
What does Sentinel watch?
Consumers, culture, category, competitors, retail, innovation, pricing, claims and trends, drawn from public, marketplace and licensed sources.
How does Sentinel know what matters to my brand?
Through your Brand Baseline. A development has no meaning in isolation; its meaning depends on the brand it lands on. Sentinel reads everything against that context, and often concludes that something does not matter to you.
What is the Brand Baseline?
The understanding Sentinel establishes before it tells you anything: your brand, positioning, strategy, consumers and their needs and motivations, competitors, category and objectives. It is the context through which future developments are interpreted.
What is Zena?
Zena is the brand-management brain behind Sentinel. Generic AI knows the world; Zena learns your brand. Zena is informed by classical brand-management thinking, is built to reason like a brand manager rather than a general assistant, and works from your Brand Baseline. Zena also powers Decision Briefs when a question deserves deeper work.
What a raised development looks like

What happened. Why it matters. What to consider.

Every raised item answers the same three questions in the same order. Seeing what happened is easy. Knowing what it means is the useful part.

What happened

The premium challenger launched a zero-sugar SKU at three regional grocery banners.

Commodity information

Why it matters

Sugar is moving from a product attribute to a reason consumers choose, and the argument gets settled in the fall buyer review.

What to do

Pressure-test a reduced-sugar line now and take the shelf argument into the fall review first.

Illustrative example. Not client work.

The difference

Why this is not another tool.

How is Sentinel different from monitoring, social listening or competitive intelligence?
Those categories give you more information to interpret. Sentinel judges whether a development bears on this brand, its consumers and its objectives, explains the implication and proposes a next move. More information is not the advantage. Knowing what it means is.
Is Sentinel another AI tool my team has to manage?
No. It is configured once with your brand, competitors and objectives, and then runs. Nobody has to triage a feed or operate a dashboard to get value from it.
Does Sentinel recommend what we should do?
Yes. Every raised development ends with what to consider doing next, and recommendations are kept in a ledger with their status and history. Sometimes the recommendation is to act. Sometimes it is to investigate, test, watch, or leave it alone. The judgment and the call stay with your people.
The recommendation ledger

Open items stay open. Nothing is raised twice as if it were new.

In practice

What arrives, and when.

How often will I hear from Sentinel?
A Sentinel Read on a regular cycle, plus burst alerts on the days something should not wait for the next read. Most of what Sentinel reads never reaches you.
What is a Sentinel Read?
The regular read of what changed around your brand, what it means against your baseline, and what deserves attention now, with open recommendations carried forward rather than raised again as if new.
What triggers a Burst Alert?
A development Sentinel judges consequential enough that holding it until the next read would cost you time to think. Burst alerts are automated and fast, and are not individually reviewed by a person.
Can I ask Zena questions whenever I want?
Yes. Conversation is one way into the intelligence and context accumulated around your brand: whether developments are connected, what has meaningfully changed since the baseline, what you might be underestimating, and whether to act now or keep watching.
Does Zena understand my brand better over time?
Yes, through accumulated context rather than any retraining of the underlying model. Every signal, read, recommendation, conversation and decision stays part of what Zena can draw on. Useful from the start. Richer in context over time.
Getting started

Working with us.

Can Sentinel work across multiple brands?
Yes. Most relationships start with one brand and expand. Pricing improves as brands are added, and portfolios are priced as a portfolio.
What information do I need to provide?
Name one brand and its competitors to begin. Sentinel builds the Brand Baseline first, so your first read arrives with context instead of a blank page.
How quickly can we get started?
Timing depends on the brand and the baseline work involved. Ask us for current timing.

Pending Brandtuit review.

How does Brandtuit protect our information?
Sentinel works from public, marketplace and licensed sources, and does not connect to your systems or your P&L. For anything beyond that, including specific handling, retention and security terms, ask us directly.

Which brand should Sentinel watch first?

Name one brand and its competitors. Sentinel builds the baseline first, then your first read arrives with context instead of a blank page.
